"Where the deer and the antelope play...?"

Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam,
Where the deer and the antelope play,
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day.
Home, home on the range,
Where the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day.

"Home on the Range" - State Song of Kansas. Lyrics by Brewster Higley, music by Daniel Kelley

My wife and I have recently been busy looking for a place to call our own. Just like any project, there have been some parameters that are making it difficult to acquire a home. The next few days are gonna be tough but we do hope we'll be able to settle before our little bundle of joy comes out. Yes, we'll be parents soon, and it's really exciting! That's good enough motivation for us to keep looking and working hard for our home, sans the roaming buffaloes and playing deers and antelopes.

Aside from scouring the buy and sell ads, I've been researching on building houses. One option is to build one using prefabricated concrete panels. Some nifty designs came from this contractor's website.
